how is this funny to anyone.

Those people obviously don’t realize the extremely high kill rate for cats at shelters, not to mention that people literally dump indoor cats outside when they don’t want them anymore, and indoor cats often die due to starvation/predators (duh they have no survival skills).

Also – I might also be crying.

Jackson Galaxy is awesome. His story is is that he used to be a drug addict, and that while he was in the beginning of his recovery he saved a stray cat and nursed it back to life, and in return the cat essentially did the same for him, and ever since then, he’s taught himself everything there is to know about cats and their behavior. Cats saved his life, so he’s saving cats lives. He’s awesome.

I love this guy.

Watch his show. This guy is the best and he knows cats!

Jackson Galaxy is amazing. He also worked in an animal shelter for several years, starting out doing nothing more than grunt work like cleaning out cages, and he saw first-hand how hard it can be to get cats adopted, how the system – and people – can fail them, how many cats are euthanized each year, and now he raises awareness and works with owners so that fewer cats will be euthanized.

He’s also a huge advocate against declawing cats, because it’s basically a surgery that removes the entire first knuckle on each toe of the cat. On top of that, he encourages owners to keep their cats as indoor-only, because statistics show that the lifespan of indoor-outdoor cats is significantly lowered, since there’s so many more dangers in the outside world, like cars.

For anyone who doesn’t know, his TV show is called “My Cat From Hell”. However, Jackson is very adamant that there’s no such thing as a “bad cat” – 9 out of 10 times, the issue can be fixed by the owner doing something differently. The show has a ton of good information too, even for people who have wonderfully behaved cats, because he talks about cat body language, territory issues, cat instincts, playing with your cat, how to train your cat, how to introduce new cats to each other, etc.

I just…yeah. I highly recommend Jackson.
