The very fact that we use the phrase “marketplace of ideas” to discuss what is literally just conversations about the way that we should relate to each other is a huge example of capitalist realism. Like we are literally framing the debate itself in hyper-capitalist terms. Conversation and community is not something that should be bought and sold. I’m not interested in a marketplace of ideas. I’m interested in a truly free-flowing, creative, and loving community.
