I also think as long as I keep talking about this that I really don’t like the whole “don’t like don’t read” barometer for what defines a good fan vs. a bad one. I think it’s one of those things that should be left in the past and we need to move on from it. The reason why is sometimes people will write racist/sexist/homophobic etc. things and forcing marginalized fans to just coexist with that sort of thing in their fandom because there’s an assumption they can just ignore it is really, really, really unfair.

Your life isn’t ruined because someone said you wrote something racist.
