Uhhh Unpopular opinion but I have to say…why does such a large portion of the wlw community seem fixated on shipping straight girls? it seems like you guys get so mad that these ships aren’t cannon, while letting actual shows with lesbians flop. It’s so weird! Like if you’re mad that a show isn’t gay, watch one that is, or enjoy your headcannons in peace- instead of harassing actors/writers.

this is so ignorant lmao fandom was built on non canon and fandom pushing for rep is the reason there any. like petra on jtv was just made queer bc queer people saw her as queer. writers know having queer characters will draw a queer audience because fandom has been vocal & actively promotes shows that have rep. there’s also something called queercoding and most characters loved by queer fandom are heavily queer coded. so of course ships will be born out of them. and seriously, they’re *fictional* characters. they don’t have to be straight. on some shows queer characters can make a stronger narrative, is more realistic or compelling, and sometimes some characters just have incredible chemistry so why not take advantage & capitalize on it?

people can’t help what characters & ships they connect to. having non canon ships doesn’t mean you don’t watch/support/enjoy canon ones. like lmao think before you speak. i adore swan queen, supercorp, supercat, and jetra but i love avalance, wayhaught, alex danvers, elena alvarez, and i’m enjoying petramos immensely. like?? learn some fandom history and maybe pay more attention to your community.
