You never fully realize how inept mainstream media is until they cover a topic you know a lot of.

My favorite is when the news reports on Internet Culture™️ and points out “trends“ that are either not trends at all or about five years too late. And growing up that always meant annoying conversations with my mother like “no mom I am not putting pencils up my ass and lighting them on fire and literally no one else I know is doing it either” 🙄
