Fallout 76 looks amazing, and basically it’ll be Fallout with co-op. You can play it solo, but there appear to be PVE-enabled zones where you have to fight other players. The other player was called “PGARVEY”, and got killed execution style; which was a nice touch. Preston die bitch. 😛

Todd says the game is better to play co-op. Map is 4 times the size of Fallout 4, and features different environmental regions similar to Skyrim. Improved technology allows them to have larger world areas, an improved lighting system, and far-off weather (a thing never seen in any previous title). I assume this also means that the game will run better than FO4, which… does not run that well, let’s be real.

Power armor looks like it functions identical to FO4 in actual gameplay footage. Same interface, and I assume PA frames and fusion cores will still be a thing. Confirmed appearing are the T-51b, APA/X-01, and a new kind of improvized power armor that appears to be made of T-51 parts and salvage.

There also appear to be more weapons; including handmade pipe guns, an actual breach-loaded musket pistol, an LMG, Gauss Rifle, and the AER9 family laser. But the gunplay looks smoother, and improved over 4.

You can build settlements anywhere, and not just in predetermined places as in Fallout 4. The Vault has a tool called a C.A.M.P., which you use to establish new settlements. Settlement system looks similar to Fallout 4, but with interface improvements.

You can find and launch nuclear missiles. Oh, yes.

Regardless, this game isn’t a “Rust Clone”, and Jason Schreier owes everyone a major fucking apology. Like seriously, I was ready to write FO76 off, and so many people were bummed out over his tweets. I’m relieved that he was wrong.

Fallout Shelter is out for PS4 and Switch, for those who like that sort of thing.

The Elder Scrolls: Blades is a new Arena-style game where you do quests, dungeon crawls, fight other players in a gladiatorial arena, and rebuild a town that was destroyed by the Thalmor. It’ll be a free to play mobile game; but will be available on PC and consoles as well.
