They actually pulled it off!

This season of Westworld was all about world building and setting mysteries without ever addresssing them. They were relying on the season finale to pull all the separate plot threads together and tell a cohesive story with it.

And they pulled it off! It was an excellent finale! They revealed a massive twist, completely changed the status quo (if there ever was one), set up a fascinating third season, and left us with questions and mysteries worth chewing over.

Some people have complained about this season but I truly think the finale brought it all home and retroactively improved many of the previous episodes. This will definitely be a fun season to rewatch!

That said Jeffrey Wright deserves so much more credit than he gets. He’s had roles in some major movies and shows and he just doesn’t get enough respect as an actor. He pulled this episode off with aplomb and made Bernard one of my favorites, if not my favorite, character in the show. (And then the fandom still barely talks about him, sigh)

Amazing episode, great season, and I can’t wait for the third season, whenever it comes out!
