Y’know, this whole shit that TERFs pull by making “receipt blogs” and “masterposts” of everything from the perceived wrongs of or crimes by trans people (especially trans women) remind me, as a Jew, of other particular ideologies that supported the listing and publication of crimes by members of a marginalized group as means to discredit and vie for the mistreatment of said group.

this is being brought back by angry TERFS an honest to goodness year after I wrote this, so reminder that people from every group act wrongly and using this to discredit a particular group/as an argument for their continued oppression is a rather familiar tactic.

I love Mariah as a villain and I agree with everything you said! Also my girl never learned how to cope with her trauma, and when she killed Cornell Shades told her she got the nerve and stepped up when really she was highkey triggered, and when she told Tilda that she did her a favour because she’ll never trust anyone and let them close, like wow, way to project your own trust issues. it’s not that I condone any of her actions but I feel so protective of her

True! She’s really a bad person but you can see where she comes from, and she’s so convinced that the evil she’s doing is to ultimately protect Harlem, that you can’t convince her to stop.

What is also interesting and touching is that, despite not loving Tilda (and tbh who can blame her for that, it’s really sad for Tilda but we can understand Mariah), she still genuinely cares about her. Up until their breaking point, she always told Tilda she loved her, because she knew a child always needs to feel loved. She was a distant mother but she always tried to make her daughter feel loved. She didn’t tell her the truth about her origins and about her feelings because she knew it would break Tilda’s heart and she wanted to protect her. Of course, when Mariah finally broke and embraced her evilest self, she eventually broke Tilda’s heart. But as you said, it was her fucked up way of “helping” her daughter : breaking her heart so badly that no one could ever hurt her that bad again.

The absolute fucking WORST trend Americans had latched onto in the past few decades is a supposed “return to nature” movement that is literally anti-science and anti-medicine, and extremely dangerous for individuals and the general population at large. I’m not saying modern life doesn’t have its share of problems, but please, if you want to partake in some sort of “back to nature” ideal, go camping or something, don’t skip on fucking vaccinating your kids. I was born in a country that had a lot of rural areas where people didn’t have the means or resources to keep up with important medical necessities like vaccinations, and you know what usually happened? Polio. Polio happened. You know what happens to people who drink “raw water?” Cholera. Average Americans are extremely sheltered and are very, very lucky that shit like herd immunity is a thing so that their kids aren’t getting fucking smallpox in 2018 or some shit.
