Getting a decent government into place requires work; it requires unremitting commitment. Keeping it in place will also always require work. Long-term planning and short-term decision-making must be balanced, each must be carefully considered and realistic, and hold measurable, material impact on real people above abstract principles, always. Constant vigilance and participation are fundamental components of a functional government and just society. There is no set-it-and-forget-it revolution.
