I really hope kids in fandom who think people should forget about all their fandom interests by the time they hit 30 and go off to do more “adult” things get over that by the time they hit like their mid 20s themselves, because y’all are going to be in for such a spiral of self-hate and self-consciousness over not being “adult enough” and not having “proper adult interests” if you get to that age and are still interested in fandom and think you’re in the wrong for it.
(Which—I bet the majority of y’all still will be in fandom in your 20s/30s/older even if you think you’ll have moved on to ~more adult interests~ by then, because most people who get into fandom young are still into it as they age to some degree even if it’s not in the same way or for the same media. Our interests don’t suddenly die and get replaced by new ones when we hit certain ages, they simply evolve and change over time.)
