this is less an ideological point than a practical one, but calling for admins to shut down fash blogs will almost certainly eventually also result in shutting down “political extremism” in general, because idiot bourgeois staff are incapable of distinguishing “hey capitalism and imperialism are a blight on the history of humanity” from “we want to exterminate the enemies of the white race”
the same is true for encouraging the state to label political dissidents as “terrorists.” grab your liberal woke points for asserting white supremacist violence is a terrorist act, but don’t pretend that that legal designation won’t come down hard on leftist movements, too, likely harder because the left actually threatens class society, whereas white supremacists and their ilk are simply its arch-realization.
Most states are usually ALREADY coming down hard on leftist movements or at least have done so in the past. This post sounds a lot like the people defending free speech for nazis …
this post is a jewish communist who is already watching her comrades get arrested by the feds under vague laws against political dissidence trying to suggest that the solution to curtailing Nazi social presence is not the state but antifascist organizing, both community work and direct action.
the bourgeois state will never silence fascists and expanding its powers to do so will only hurt us, not them. look at people like Richard Spencer and Milo – their ability to book speaking tours with major universities across the US (universities which are supposed bastions of progressive thought in an otherwise arch-reactionary nation) speaks to the degree to which institutions themselves are willing to permit their presence (while those same universities regularly shut down pro-Palestinian activist groups, for example).
what shut down Richard Spencer’s uni tour was antifa – that’s not a hypothesis, he admitted it outright. what will shut down N*zi organizing is not working with institutions that at best are indifferent and at worst actively sympathetic with fascists, it’s direct action.
