Can’t vote because you have to work?Check the laws in your state. Many states DO have laws that require employers to let you vote.
Can’t vote because you don’t have transportation?Lyft is currently offering rides free or at 50% off to anyone who needs to get to the polls. Uber is offering $10 off. Even many bike- and scooter-share companies are offering deals right now, and some cities (including Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, and Tampa) are making public transit free on voting day. And, chances are, you have friends who also need to vote, so see if you can carpool.
Worried you don’t know enough to vote?Vote.org will show you everything on your local ballot. Several organizations also have voting guides which will give you more in-depth information. Make sure you choose an organization you trust. I recommend starting with the website for your state’s ACLU or Planned Parenthood.
Don’t like any of the candidates? My recommendation to you is to pick the least objectionable person you think can win. I would never tell you to vote against your conscience, but I do still think it’s important to make your choice with the understanding that it has consequences. Trump’s victory margin was smaller than total Stein votes in key swing states. As for write-ins, know that your write-in could be equivalent to a vote for the candidate you like least and be sure you’re comfortable with that before doing it.

Voting day is Tuesday, November 6, 2018. Hours vary by location, but the day does not.
Do not take pictures of your ballot.
Do not campaign at the polling place.
Make sure you have proper ID, if needed.
If you’re voting electronically, double, even triple-check every vote before submitting, even if you have an option to vote straight ticket. There have been cases where this doesn’t work as expected. If you can’t find your party candidate, make sure to check the next page as there have also been glitches (at least in my state) that push the Democratic candidate after the massive list of independent candidates.
If you’re voting on paper, check every side of every page to avoid missing any votes.
And most importantly, offer to take your friends, family, or co-workers with you to vote if they weren’t already planning to go.
one thing some leftists near me were doing regarding the voting question that I thought was really rad was voluntarily “giving” their vote to someone who didn’t have the legal right to vote. For example, they’d chat with someone imprisoned or someone previously convicted of a felony who lost voting rights about who they supported or would vote for, and then on Election Day they’d fill out their ballot accordingly.
I thought it was a really useful/practical take on politically consciously choosing not to vote, while simultaneously helping to get voting rights for those who are systematically denied them.

This week in dystopian nightmares: Bank of America is locking customers out of their accounts after demanding proof of U.S. citizenship.
Saeed Moshfegh, an Iranian Ph.D candidate at the University of Miami, had been studying legally in the U.S. for seven years when Bank of America froze his account over concerns about his immigration status.
According to a report by the Miami Herald, the company required Moshfegh to provide proof of legal residency every six months to continue to use his Bank of America account, which he begrudgingly did. But last month the bank refused to accept Moshfegh’s paperwork, which he claims was correct given his status as an active student enrolled in a U.S. university.
“This bank doesn’t know how the immigration system works, so they didn’t accept my document,” Moshfegh told the Miami Herald in an interview. Moshfegh’s accounts were frozen and his funds were inaccessible, regardless of the fact that he was a legal U.S. resident and had even recently married an American. After multiple conversations with Bank of America employees, Moshfegh was allowed to withdraw his money, but the account was shuttered.
He’s far from alone. Multiple U.S. citizens have reported experiencing similar treatment from Bank of America.
so, i gathered just a handful testimonials from replies and messages revealing just how unprofessional they are with their commission work by leaving their commissioners in silence for months. do not commission ghost-oakes unless you want to wait for months, watching them pump out other commissions and art while you twiddle your thumbs
i have my own testimonial too: i had tried to order a holiday icon back when they were offering them. weeks went by and i heard nothing, no updates. all the while, they were creating gift icons for friends for free and other such art. when i finally did hear back, the holidays were over and i still got no visual progress (but i was told it was being worked on). they said they would finish it in a week – nothing. i asked them about it again, another week – still nothing. it wasn’t until i threatened to backdraft them (which in most cases i would NEVER do, but i felt it was my only option) that i got my money back.
God, the amount of people who have mentioned getting no or rushed work from him after needling him for months. He’s apparently now blocking some people he owes.
On top of that— I dunno if he still has this policy, but his TOS on FA at one point said that if you filed a chargeback, he got to keep your character to sell off as an adoptable.
That’s. Insane. Especially considering his work ethic.
Dude was fully ambulatory and able to work when I knew him in 2014 (despite claiming things like cancer, kidney problems and sepsis THE WHOLE TIME… SEPSIS, which shoulda had him hospitalized or dead) and combined with a history of lying about being a victim of other events and people, I’m very skeptical of his ever-evolving health claims.
In my experience, under stress he will basically read half a sentence and decide what the second half means on his own. Fact-checking isn’t his thing when threatened. My theory is that once he has a worry or concern, it becomes reality to him, and he defends the lie because he finds comfort in having a confirmation that the world is out to get him with minimal responsibility on his part.

If someone’s talking about commissioning him, warn them of this. Petitions don’t do shit, the only way to stop people like this is to stop their income. Drag his reputation through the dirt until no one would even consider speaking to him. That’s the only way to end this.
Oh, no, technically, he doesn’t say he’ll steal your character. He says he’ll steal every character in the art. If you get a commission with a friend’s character, he owns your friend’s character. If you get a commission with Mickey Mouse, he owns Mickey Mouse… Though I’d love to see him try to explain that one to Disney.
