Welcome to the FIRST EVER Rumple Angst Fest Awards Season!
I am @mysticknightsofscotland, and between the end of the OUAT and life, I cannot guarantee that there will be another awards season, so let’s make the most of this while we’re all still together!
This takes inspiration from the ever-popular @theespensonawards, with a few big differences:
The focus is on RUMPLE rather than Rumbelle, and ANGST in particular.
ANY fic, vid, or art ever made can be nominated in almost every category, so long as it qualifies as Rumple Angst (with 2 exceptions explained in the categories).
The previous winners of the TEAs angst categories are restricted to their own “Best Of TEAs” categories and are therefore nominated by default. Any past TEAs nominees or non-angst-specific winners are welcome to be nominated in any category.
The timeline will look like this:
Nomination Period: February 15 – March 15
Voting: April 1 – 7
Winners Announced: April 14
Why does the end of Rumple Angst Fest fall on Robert Carlyle’s birthday, you ask? Because like how TEAs celebrates Rumbelle on the anniversary of Skin Deep airing, Rumple Angst Fest celebrates Rumple and all the times we wanted to wrap him in a blanket of love, hot chocolate, and cookies to make up for the angst he constantly suffered. It bridges the gap between Rumbelle and Rumple, and waits until February 15 to start because who wouldn’t rather have fluff on Valentine’s Day?

A huge brewery is being built in the nearby city of Mexicali, and Gallegos – like many others – fears it will suck up what little water remains to make beer for export to the US.”
[…]
Gallegos and other farmers see themselves as the victims of an unhealthy deal between the state government of Baja California and Constellation Brands, the third biggest brewer in the US.
They’re managing the water as if it were loot to be divvied up among them,” he said. “The government’s intention is to leave us with nothing, without land and without water.”

If this brewery was such a good deal wouldn’t it be [across the border] in Calexico or Las Vegas?” asked farmer Eduardo Cisneros, 75. “They just want cheap water and cheap labour.
Mexicali Resists, the local movement of farmers and residents, have been fighting this decision since it was announced. So like please don’t buy nautilus shells they’re actually going extinct, largely because we kill them for their shells. They’re really cool little dudes but they’re not recognized as endangered because we “don’t know enough about them”, despite it being pretty clear to anyone who works with them, scientist or fisherman. Near nobody knows about this, so please be kind to these little guys and maybe spread the word?
