My girl was outed to a homophobic family and was kicked out her home. Her entire family turned against her and she was forced to use her entire funds on a apartment. Week after being outed she was fired from her job bc she tried getting 2 jobs and they had a problem with her asking for a schedule change. We see each other like once a year bc I’m in jersey n was in school n she’s in ga but I’m permanently moving to ga to help her. When she was outed she had anxiety attacks n not having a job made it worse. She’s been begging for me but I was a student n from helping my mom I don’t have the money to be there physically as I need to.
Last time I saw her was February. Being that I’m out of school I’m able to move if u guys could help I need 200 to make it to her 700 for our next month’s rent being that she lost her job n 400 for food n electricity bill. Guys please help I need to be with my girl.

Thousands of cartons of Vanilla Almond Breeze are under recall for containing undeclared milk. I don’t care what you think about vegans, nondairy milk, whatever…
This could kill people if word doesn’t get out fast enough.

I work at a Banfield inside a California Petsmart location. Last night one of their pet care employees was discussing which snakes need to see our vets. Multiple snakes from a three species were refusing it eat. One of the long term techs there (I’m a new transfer from an out of state stand alone) said they should try buying live and feeding it. After the petsmart employee left I asked a few questions regarding the seemingly large number of unhealthy Petsmart pets we had to treat at our clinic.
That’s when my coworker said many snakes were wild caught. Sceptical at first, I asked how she knew. I know some snakes just won’t touch frozen meals. Turns out, the ladies had a blood sample sent in for analysis and it came back that the snake had a disease not seen in captive bred reptiles. One top of that, most snakes were very aggressive.
Lunging out at people, yet not touching frozen food. Turning around and eating live. Diseases only found in wild caught reptiles. Signs of stress long after being in an established tank. Constantly sick. To me this is extremely strong evidence that the animal supplier my location uses is selling us wild caught snakes.
Why is this bad? Well beyond snakes being sick, you also have to worry about people and the wild population. I don’t want to contribute depleting natural populations due to the pet trade. Then you have people who adopt these pets only to have them die. A lot of people get their first snake from Petsmart and won’t know the signs of an unhealthy one. Many would not seek vet care, or if they did, it would be too late. Obviously aggressive snakes are more likely to bite. This can cause the snake to no only scare a person and draw a little blood, it can hurt or even kill the snake.
Petsmart was alerted about our findings and they don’t care. Banfield isn’t owned my Petsmart so there isn’t much we can do. I just found this to be something the general public should know. The company doesn’t care, but you might. If your looking to buy any animal, look at breeders or rescue first. Snake breeders are easy to find online. They ship. Their prices for common morphs are often lower than petsmart. You will get a better quality snake bred in captivity to be docile and healthy.
hey tumblr I know since this isn’t a show about two white cis gays you may not donate but if you could read below
I’m trying to raise $3,500 to get me and my family away from our abusive ex stepdad. I’m trying to do this within the next 6 weeks and being black trans and unemployed makes that really hard
At this point I’m not even asking most of you to donate, I’d really just like the exposure so this can get to someone that’s a bit better off who can afford to help out a little. I’m gonna include my PayPal and the link to my gofundme below
If you’d like to help out a former Amazon warehouse employee who lost their job (aka was fired) two months ago because they had a mental health breakdown due to a manic episode/could no longer handle the incredibly physically unhealthy and abusive working conditions that came with the job that had driven them to start having thoughts of suicide so serious they needed to go away for treatment for almost a week, and has also been denied unemployment by Amazon, then please help them out: PayPal.me/LMBee
If you need proof that I worked for Amazon, here’s a picture of me with my badge:
Every single year the same things happens in Greece, every damn summer our country is burned, people lose their houses and families, then no one cares and the cycle repeats.
Its not just a weather issue, there is always a greater evil hidden behind all of this and nothing changes.
Last year my house almost burned, we were lucky on the last minute but I can still remember the fear of the people around me, running around and trying to help, the panicked animals and the sickening anxiety that I might lose my house and my cat.
Funny how when people think about Greece all they talk about is our economic crisis and shitty politicians (and even dare to act like they know everything about those matters), yet for some strange reason, when it comes to the refugee crisis, the tensions with Turkey or the fire catastrophes, silence ensues.
I’m positive that if it were a stronger country or a “popular” one getting burned, everyone would magically transform into Mother Teresa and pray, cry and reblog everything they can.
But no, this is Greece, the “joke of Europe”, or, as all fandoms here know it, “that one ancient country with the really cool mythology and gods”. No future or innocent people to worry about, right?
This is so true. I did a test yesterday: I reblogged posts about the Fire in both my blogs (one of them being a Greece travel blog, fancy that), overall potential of 6000 followers. The number of reblogs I got was disheartening. And the vast majority was from Greek followers.
Had I reblogged something pale in comparison about USA, or at least UK or at the very least France, people would be all over it.
Had I reblogged an idiotic headcanon about Apollo or Athena or an 100% accurate analysis of
Achilles and Patroclus’s relationship, people would reblog like crazy “oh wow how cool that is” .
I had photos of Santorini island and Ancient temples in my queue and they were posted, obviously getting more attention than the people and houses being on fire, right NOW. Because bucket list goals, duh.
Speculations about if it’s Alexander’s tomb found in Egypt these days got like 300000 notes.
No one gives a shit about Greeks nowadays. No one gives a shit about small or weak countries. No one gives a shit about something that doesn’t affect them personally. I saw a Portuguese person reblogging the post because they said last year when Portugal was on fire, nobody cared and they didn’t want the same thing to happen to Greece. I feel terribly sorry and I salute that person.
And one more thing: those of you who claim you love Greece, Greek mythology, you are Philhellenes, you can explain in detail how Leonidas’ sacrifice affected the invasion of the Persians in the European continent or you even eat Gyros and dance Syrtaki, here’s a secret, you don’t know shit about Greece. Literally nothing.
Many of you might wonder “okay what is this sudden outburst, where did all this come from”. But I don’t care if it seems out of place. I know where it comes from and fellow Greeks know where it comes from. And that’s enough for me right now.
And you might wonder: “Ok are we obliged to love Greece?”. Of course not. You don’t have to love Greece. So don’t claim you do either because you do not really know shit about her. (it’s a she.)
In case anyone cares, there are more than74 people dead, over 150 severely or critically injured and more than 600 houses burnt to the ground.
I mean this as a honestly legit question from a non-greek European to you, the people affected by it:
What do you think are the best ways to help?
Other than simply caring (although what I get from your posts is that this too is a rare thing and I’m sorry to hear that). Because, caring about something is important and good, but for me what matters most are the actions caring leads to.
So, what actions can I take that would help you and the wildfire situation?
reblogging for the second reply. here’s what can you do:

and that’s all. it’s actually hard finding ugly cats. cats usually look average with one Beauty Feature (special eyes, nice cheekbones, puffy tail), so true ugly is rare & should be cherished
my personal policy is: NEVER call someone’s pet ugly. it’s always rude and kinda mean?
but these cats don’t have owners, so if you want me shut up about their misshapen Canadian looks you’re gonna have to adopt them. adopt these bee-stung mutts and I’ll be gagged. it’s the only way
im not gonna reblog the post with my amazon wishlists bc fuck amazon, but my name is andrew! i am a trans man and i live in the south, and i move into my dorm aug 13! however excited i am is drowned out by the anxiety i feel. i need to buy textbooks and dorm things and also buy a new binder and a packer possibly! my dad is helping with a few things, but he decided that if i can get everything for dorm and for textbooks covered, he can buy me an actual phone (i have a 20 dollar phone from walmart and an ipod, its not a good nor a mature setup). all of my money from my summer job is going toward this, but i really could use some help!
my venmo is @AndrewElijahDavis, and i can get other money sharing apps if you’re willing to donate,
On June 9, Grassroots Campaigns, Inc, locked out their unionized
employees in response to protected union activity requesting better
training for new employees. While the lockout has since been ended
through direct action, pickets all over the country, and call-in
campaigns, employees were still out of work for two weeks and many will
have difficulty making their rent.
Solidarity from you can make a big difference in these worker’s lives.
Please help if you can, at the very least spread this!
