Naturalized US citizens are reporting that the DHS website is listing them as “not a citizen”.

From Funmilayo Celestina Ekundayo:

So i just got this message when i attempted to update my voter registration.

This is a lie. I became a naturalized citizen in 2005. Drove all the way to Memphis Tennessee for the ceremony.

I have voted in 2 elections; i have an American passport I’ve traveled with, and i have gone to the Department of safety and homeland security to update all information, last time i did was 2 years ago when i needed a copy of my social security card.

So, a warning to all naturalized citizens inTennessee , check your status now!!

https://ovr.govote.tn.gov/Registration

Something is happening.
*update*
I have confirmed others that are having this issue. Folks, this is Not a drill!!
Check your statuses.
*update 2*
Still trying to find answers. After calling the Department of homeland security and safety, i was told by the representative that he didn’t know what was happening and would like to refer me to an “immigration officer”. The wait time is 57 minutes. The office closed in 17 minutes.
I will try again on Monday.
Until then, i am taking my passport with me Everywhere!! EVERYWHERE!!!

This is not a drill.

Outside the ICE detention facility in Macclenny, FL.

This woman just drove through a crowd of us as we protested outside an ICE detention facility, as we crossed the parking lot to return to our cars, and she hit someone.

Cops didn’t see it of course and they walked off a random protester in bracelets for criminal mischief.

The lady then circled around and parked to watch.

The cops are right here, giving car lady a victim writeup.

Cops refuse to take contact info from any of us. Someone called a different department in.

Police are reluctantly taking statements. They warned us they will arrest us if we lie.

They say the girl they grabbed hit the car, and are charging her with criminal mischief. Bail fund is going; cash-only right now.

The cops are now accusing us of jaywalking (it’s a parking lot).

And [the car driver] still here, watching and I’m sure enjoying. She circled back for the show.

Consensus is the cops planned this. Which is pretty much certainly true.

From witnesses:

“I was there. She had plenty of opportunity to drive away but she stuck around to act aggressive and accused someone of hitting her car. She hit someone with her car.”

“When someone was mocking her saying “is your daddy coming to get you now” when cops started walking toward us from the building and she said “yes actually”“

This essentially happened to my husband about 10 years ago, with long term devastating ramifications for us that we still feel to this day. I don’t want to get into details because I don’t want to be identified and we’ve recently been doxxed by nazis (again).

But we found ourselves in a situation where an angry assclown in a van decided to slam into a group of protesters, broke my husband’s neck in three places, confessed his crime to both dispatch and the officer on the scene, and was never charged for anything. He was cleared of any wrongdoing virtually instantaneously, while my husband and, by proximity our family, suffered for years.

Please know, if you’re on the fence about rejecting the police – many of us hate the police for extremely good, personal reasons.

Go to your nearest target. Buy a two pack of pushup bras (24$ for 2), and target’s bra inserts (12$). Then go to your nearest Walmart and buy the Vasserette Control Shapewear Panties (2.50 each), they do wonders for helping your tuck. There you go! You just saved yourself a lot of money, you can afford to buy enough to wear every day, and best of all you look fabulous. –@twidx

recs for trans women are so rare on tumblr!! spread this, people.

Please reblog this, in total it’s about $38.50 to make a huge difference for a trans woman/trans feminine person.

I’ve honestly been tucking with that kind of thing ever since I started and it’s so useful

Petition: Suspend Safe Third Country Agreement with the United States

andalwaysburning:

The Broadbent Institute has revived a petition to revoke the Safe Third Country Agreement with the USA.

Very basically the agreement says that the USA is a safe country for refugees and therefore refugees who land stateside before Canada must apply for entry in the USA first. (And visa versa for refugees arriving in Canada first.) Obviously that is not longer true.

Please sign. Petitions don’t force the government to do anything, but it will give the NDP evidence to present to the Liberals that the Canadian public wants  Trudeau to do something to help the people who are being incarcerated.

Petition: Suspend Safe Third Country Agreement with the United States

Are you a Canadian angry about what is happening at the US/Mexico border?

apocalypticwitchcraft:

Contact Minister Hussen and your local MP and tell them to suspend the Safe Third Country Agreement.

Minister Ahmed Hussen (Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship) says that they are monitoring the situation to see the impact that it’s having, which is a meaningless excuse for their inaction and lack of condemnation. Justin Trudeau is saying it’s not his job to get political about this issue. We need to let them know that it is unacceptable that Canada has not formally condemned the US’s actions, and that our government can and must take meaningful steps to make Canada a safe refuge for those who are facing persecution in the States. You can read more on the Safe Third Country Agreement here.

please help, my boyfriends father was deported this morning

shoutydwarf:

we all know hypothetically about the horrors
of living in trumps america. we’ve all seen the same stories, we know how
dangerous it is to be brown, that your whole life can fall down in an instant. we
know this. I thought I knew this more than most, with my boyfriend being mexican.
in the back of my mind I’ve had this anxiety for months, knowing what could
happen – and today it did.

we were stopped by what looked to  be a
cop car in what I thought was an ordinary police stop (scary enough already)
but it turned out to be anything but. behind the car were three  black vehicles with tinted windows, literally
like you see in the movies. me and my boyfriend are both fresh out of teenager years,
and there was just two of us against several armed government officers.

this was literally the single most terrifying experience of my life. they told
us to put our hands up and all I could think was that they’re gonna tell him to
step out of the car, they’re gonna kill him in front of me, and I’m gonna have
to call his family and tell them that I saw their son die and that he’s never
coming home.
they laughed in my boyfriend’s face, asking several times for his name and
jiggling the door handle and held us for what felt, to me, like a small and
hellish eternity. I’m sure most people can understand what a traffic stop can
be like as a brown person in america – i feel like i don’t need to say much
more here and honestly just trying to describe everything that happens makes me
want to throw up so I’m not going to.

eventually they let us go and somehow it only gets worse from there.
we found out that my boyfriend’s father had been picked up by ICE. we believe
at present that the point of the stop was to stop me and my boyfriend from
driving past the daycare down the road (where his father was dropping off his 3
yr old son at) so that we wouldn’t be able to see what they were doing to his
dad. the fact that they know our schedules so well means they must have been
following us and watching us for a while. i would say that i’m paranoid except
that honestly, this is entirely justified.

currently, his dad is being held by ICE. because it’s immigration court, not
criminal court, he is not entitled to free legal representation. we need at
least $5000 for lawyer, not even including the bond. my boyfriend and I both
work but there is no way for us to be able to raise this kind of money on such
short notice. my boyfriend is basically in shock right now, as I think is very
reasonable, and this entire situation feels beyond hopeless. the only chance we
have of keeping his family together is through this lawyer, and through asking
for help from others.

i know you are all tired from everything you see on the news. i know that there
are many stories like ours. but please, this is ours. this is the man I love. this
is his father. this is our future together. I never thought this would actually
happen and it honestly still feels like a surreal nightmare but it has
happened, and we cannot get out of it ourselves.

you can donate to our paypal here. every penny helps and if you can’t donate i completely understand, just please please share this post.
