Quick heads up to other partnered Youtube creators and anyone who follows my content.

TDLR: It appears that youtube is running anti-LGBT+ videos as ads before LGBT+ content. One of the people doing this claims it was unintentional but it doesn’t make him less of an asshole. Basically they tagged it as LGBT+ because they are old and dumb. The tagging system is suppose to be used for advertisers to target specific types of videos IE you watch gaming content so here is an ad for a PS4. But it can be abused apparently. So now what?

You don’t have to demonotize your entire channel if you want to stop these ads.

Youtube is really shit at giving partners info so I thought I’d help you out with a image. If you want to block specific ads on your content (as in they will not run on your content and you will not make money from hate speech) then log into your adsense account

follow these steps.

1. Click “allow & block ads”

2. Click “content host”

3. Click “All my sites”

4. Put the names of any of the associated websites

5. click the block URLs button and you are done in 24 hours the ads will stop appearing on your channel.

In step 4 you might notice that you will need the specific ad urls which Youtube won’t give you so you are gonna have to rely on going and finding them yourself. Remember that it is against youtube adsense policy to specifically load ads on your own videos so you are gonna have to look at other channels (or just use the 3 I blocked in the image).

This is the part where I need to apologize. If you have ever seen that kinda shit before one of my videos I am very sorry. It is not my intent or my aim to make money from hate speech. As far as I can tell I don’t think my channel ran any of these since my content is gaming and art related (so the ads are all lessons on how to learn to draw or up coming games) but I’m taking this precaution on the off chance that I am wrong. If however you do see an ad for this kind of bullshit run on one of my videos please let me know in a DM and I will add it to my list. Assuming Youtube works as intended (which is assuming a lot really) it will not show again.

If you are not a creator and want to help:

1. please link this to creators that you watch so it doesn’t show up on their stuff (this apparently is more important for LGBT+ creators to do for the above given reasons)

2. Let me know if you see these kinds of ads on my videos or anyone else’s so I can black list the ads. A screen shot of the ad itself is super helpful in finding the source without clicking the links. Send screenshots like that via the submission feature here on tumblr.

3. Tell Youtube that you aren’t ok with this kind of behavior directly. Message @teamyoutube or @youtube on twitter and be as calm and professional as you can be while telling them to stop being such dickheads. Youtube generally only reacts to major public outcry or if the advertisers get scared.

Tumblr’s at it again, thanks to the new European Privacy Laws. There’s probably nobody who will read this, but it pissed me off so much that I decided to make a post about it. (Ignore the weird language mish-mash, depending on your country the language might differ.)

OK, so many of us get this screen when we try to access our dash:

Realise how the ‘OK’ button is a nice, attention-grabbing blue? If you’re like me, you’re not exactly into reading a 100 pages document and tend to just click it.

My tip? DONT. Instead click on ‘Manage Options’ right next to it:

Still pretty harmless, right? That ‘Accept’ button is looking really attractive right now. Instead, click on Verwalten (Probably something like ‘Manage Options’ or something in english) and you’ll get to this page:

Now that’s not too bad, right? I just switched all the buttons to ‘off’, because I’m jealously guarding my personal information and don’t want Tumblr to go off and do who knows what with it. Looks like we’re done! But wait: There’s a SHOW option.

When we click on that one, what we will get is this:

A HUGE list with OVER 300 ENTRIES of companies that can use your data by default if you’d just clicked ‘OK’ on that very first page. Coincidence that this list is hidden that much? Me thinks not. They’re all switched on by default, but I am still a petty bitch that doesn’t want to give out her data, so I switched them all off. All 300+ of them. There is no option to switch them all off at once, and even if you disable all the options above, the companies are still switched on.

(If you wonder how i got that number, I copied the list into excel and looked at the cell number. No way am I actually counting all those entries)

Seriously, join the fucking IWW. Message your local on Facebook if you don’t know who to turn to. They’d love to have you and they’ll meet with you in person to talk about it and sign you up if you want. It can and will only lead to good things for you.

That doesn’t make any sense. If they can’t collectively bargain for your salary and benefits, then what are you paying them for exactly?

Well, in a typical business union, “they” would only be able to bargain for “your” interests because the labor bureaucrats meeting with the bosses have got workers’ support.  The IWW model cuts out the middle-man and empowers workers to organize shops and bargain for contracts without the need for a professionalized labor bureaucracy that would engage in Mickey Mouse horseshit like forcing us to sign no-strike contracts, like the useless bloodsuckers in the AFL/CIO always do.

And what you’re paying for by forking over the terrible, exorbitant, downright ruinous sum of six bucks a month is access to a solidarity network of branches all over the world and all of the resources, information, and people-power that comes with that.  Long-time wobs get off on organizing and most of them would literally die for fellow wobs; it’s a v. helpful thing to be a part of.

inb4 “Well I could just do all that myself!”:  But what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one?

Also, if you’re like a teacher or a welder or a nurse or something and you’re already part of a trade union, that’s fine; the IWW encourages dual membership whenever possible. You’re only barred from membership if your job gives you hire/fire authority over other workers; but that only counts for general membership–you can still join the General Defense Committee and other affiliate projects and thus reap the above benefits

on calls to boycott the Bohemian Rhapsody movie

Based on a 90-second teaser trailer and a few assumptions, the calls have gone out that we should boycott Bohemian Rhapsody for queer erasure.

“The trailer doesn’t show any gay content, only het stuff!”
There’s a split-second shot of Freddie hugging his girlfriend at one point. There’s also multiple shots of him obviously flirting with guys. The contention that the trailer is queer erasure is mostly coming from cis gay (white) men mad that the movie seems to be depicting Freddie Mercury as bisexual and capable of loving women at all, but given how significant his relationship with Mary Austin was to his life, it would be a disservice to everyone to exclude it.

Also, the cast list includes several male characters listed as “Freddie’s Lover,” as well as Jim Hutton, his partner in his final years.

“They’ve said the movie is going to ignore the AIDS crisis!”
No. What’s been said is that the movie ends in 1985. Once this information was released, people immediately jumped to assume that because the movie wasn’t going to chronicle Freddie’s illness and death in detail, it was avoiding the subject entirely. But the AIDS crisis was in full swing in ‘85, and Freddie of all people was extremely aware of it. The description of the trailer (the first teaser trailer!) even alludes to it.

It’s a fair point that they haven’t mentioned AIDS by name yet, but also, the only materials they’ve released so far are some promo images and one teaser trailer.

In this context, for people wondering why the creative team or the remaining band members don’t come out to “put the matter to rest” by assuring us the film deals with AIDS, it might help to remember that the media has in the past been extremely tawdry and exploitative in its treatment of Freddie Mercury’s illness and death (have you not seen all the “HIS TRAGIC AIDS STORY!!!” videos floating around Youtube? Not read the biographies that linger in lurid, dubiously sympathetic detail?). It makes sense to me that if Brian May and Roger Taylor have a heavy hand in the making of the film (which they seem to), they’d ask for a more subtle approach.

Also, again: we have six months till the movie comes out and only one teaser trailer at this point. Be concerned if you feel the need, but it’s a little early to call for a boycott.

Do not tell people to shun queer content because you have decided, six months in advance with very little information, that it won’t be up to your standards when it comes out.

Hi! Just as a warning, if any of you all plan to see Deadpool, there are some pretty heavy suicide themes to the film. They are NOT treated as a joke in any manner, in fact it’s taken (for a Deadpool film) quite seriously, but I wanted to warn you all in advance that there is a scene in which a character attempts suicide and makes references throughout the film about wanting to die. I do think the movie is very much worth seeing, but I wanted to share because this matter is quite upsetting and triggering to many and I thought a warning was in order.

My name is Monica. And this is my sister Wiola and her six years old son Jakub.

Few months ago my sister’s husband left with another woman and has move to another country. We don’t know where excacly. He doesn’t pay for anything, he doesn’t send any money. He is a piece of shit. He was homophobic towards me, he cheated on her when she was pregnant. But my sister stayed with him because of the child.

Also she had to leave the place they live for the last 9 years because it was bought by his parents and they told her to move out. They never liked her and us to be honest because my family is poor.

She is back now in our parents home where I sill live too. There’s only two small rooms in the house, kitchen and one bathroom. All of this for 5 people now. They sleep on the floor in my bedrooom.

She wants to find a place to rent because right now she is stuck wth Jakub with me in my small room. She was a kindergarden teacher but the place got shut down because there was not enough children to teach. She is now unemployed with a son and tons of debts.

I don’t know how else to help her because I’m unemployed at this moment due to my severe depression. Please we can’t live like that for much longer.

In three weeks my nephew class is going on a trip to the sea for two weeks. Everyone except him is going. My sister doesn’t have 500zł to pay for the trip. I know it’s not super important but the kid been throught a lot and I know how he is gonna feel is he be the only one not going. Trust me, I’ve been there. But it’s not only that. His clothes are way too small, as the kid his age he grows fast and doesn’t even have good shoes right now. My sister doesn’t have enough money to pay for lunch in school every month and the director of the school keep calling out on that. Because everyone needs to pay.
