Brazil did it. Brazil elected a neo-facist, racist, homophobic asshole to govern our country and the consequences about it it’s already happening.
In less than 24h since he’s been elected it’s been hell of fucking earth in Brazil. Countless people have been reported dead all over the country, mainly LGBTQ+. Countless. People parading around cities with their fucking guns (it’s pretty much illegal in Brazil but this asshole is trying to change our law to allow guns, he’s even encouraging parents to give their kids a gun ????), shooting it into the sky in sign of victory. Did you know that one of those bullets killed a child? Yeah. One killed an old lady too. There’s been report of them invading a indigenous village and attacked them. They’ve been saying they are going to kill every single “slut”, “fag”, “dyke”, poor people, Nordestino (people that lives in Nordeste, a region in Brazil, that is mainly against this government), black and homeless people. Aka in the last 24h Brazil felt what is like to live in the fucking Purge.
There’s already people recruiting “good citizens” to erradicate Brazil of “fags and dykes, because now that their master’s been elected, there’s nothing protecting them, they’re not even people.” I kid you not. They’ve created group chats in popular apps to talk about mass shooting the LGBTQ+ community in Brazil. Yesterday there were people waiting outside a queer club to beat anyone that went outside.
Our police enforcement already started to invade college campuses and schools to destroy history books because they think our teachers are indoctrinating us in favor of communism. These history books tells about our 1964 military dictatorship (something we’re very afraid of happening again and we’re pretty sure is gonna happen with this demon in charge). They are trying to say that we choose to elect a military government back then, when in fact was a fucking coup. They’re also trying to get rid of philosophy classes and social studies because they think it only teach us to become communists as well. Basically, they’re all very ignorant and violents and they’re trying to fuck with the only fucking hope we have to our future: education.
You won’t probably hear many of the things I’m saying because I’ve been reading it on social media, and everything we (the opposition) say on social media is basically reported as “fake news” by his voters. But yeah, I can’t count how many videos I’ve saw today of women getting beaten and threatened. Of how many stories I’ve read of people walking the streets and cars pullover poiting guns at them and threaten them. Of people posting pictures of their “victory bbq” with guns spread in their tables close to their fucking meat. Of how many times I’ve cried since his pronouncement, thinking about how I’ve never felt so unsafe in my entire life. Of how I’ll have to be cautious about everything from now on, if I don’t want to become another casualty.

Jair Bolsonaro, a fascist, pro military dictatorship, racist, misogynist, and homophobe, has been elected Brazilian president. My heart goes out to all Brazilians who are in danger and living in fear right now because of him and his horrid followers.
My country is deeply controlled and manipulated right now. There is anti-lgbt propaganda everywhere you look, from giant banners in the streets, flyers, to adds on the internet and most tv channels.
I’m from Romania. One of the poorest countries in Europe. It is deeply christian, on the orthodox side, and the church now has control over the political and social situation. Our “politicians” are so corrupt they are making laws to make corruption legal, looking out for their friends who already got into delux prisons and hoping they won’t get there as well.
A few years ago, the church created this “union”, and they named themselves “Coaliția pentru familie”. In english it means “The Coalition for the Family”. They have created a series of rules, and these include
1. Writing in the Constitution that marriage can only be between a man and a woman (because i suppose it wasn’t clear enough in their opinion), and making it so it can never be changed.
2. Making abortion illegal. No matter whether it was from rape, incest, or if it meant the death of the mother or/and the child.
3. Making any contraceptive means illegal.
4. Stop women from going to work, making them dependable on their male counterparts/family members. And no, i’m not exaggerating that is actually what they wrote
5. Honestly there are so many more these are just at the top of my head
And, in 2016, the Coalition got approx 3 million votes.
Now, i’m not saying that they faked the votes. They (probably) didn’t. However, i know that most people probably didn’t even know what they were signing. They went in churches and made people vote. My grandmother doesn’t know how to read or write; all she knows is how to make a signature. She goes to church and i wouldn’t be surprised if they made her and people like her vote for things they really don’t understand.
Moving back to 2018. The political situation in Romania is….
Horrible.
On the 10th of August, there was a protest the diaspora organised. They came from countries all around the world back in romania to protest against the horridly corrupt government. The gov got the gendarmerie involved, and so over 450 people got into hospitals, some of them even in critical condition. And nobody is answering, moving the blame from themselves to the protesters themselves. And, amongst all this misery and conflict, in order to distract the people, they decided to have a refferendum. Against gay marriage.
The refferendum is asking whether they should change the constitution in the way the Coalition wants to or not. It costs over 45 million euros, and it’s going to be in 2 different days, 6 and 7 of october. It is very illegal. They complain that it’s not clear enough, but if that were the case it would mean that
a. Gay marriage is already legal, therefore they are depleting people from human rights
b. It’s not legal, making this whole thing absolutely useless.
This is only the beginning. There is no way we can win; the population is still deeply homophobic, racist, xenophobic, sexist, etc etc whatever you can think of, it is. But if this thing passes, then the other “laws” will have a chance too. And so, we’ll be moved back in the eighteenth century.

This internet add hurts a lot. 1918 is a very important year in our history, as it was the year we were able to unify Romania, and it is seen as the wish our people had for hundreds and hundreds of years, and so many people died for that dream. And now, they’re comparing this piece of shit of a refferendum with our nation’s only goal?? On the 100th anniversary????

Is there any proof he actually said this, if you search it the only source is this tweet. It’s easy to criticize the treatment of homosexuality in the USSR with real stuff
1) An anti-LGBT parent can petition for guardianship of their Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and/or Transgender adult child under in order to force them by penalty of law back home, into an institutions, or group home etc. (RCW 11.88, full chapter on Guardianship—Appointment, Qualification, Removal of Guardians)
2) An anti-LGBT parent of an LGBT adult child with a partner can accuse that partner of “leading them astray” or “taking advantage of a vulnerable adult” and not only force their adult child back home but also make it illegal under penalty of law for their partner to ever see them again. (RCW 11.88.045 subsection 5)
Legal heterosexism is absolutely still real and still needs to be fought. A trend among parents of transgender youth with disabilities is seeking guardianship to forcefully stop their transition by saying they’re “incapable of making decisions.” (Personal conversation with ASAN staff member, 2016).

I’m never sure whether people who want to ship characters with a same sex character feeling the need to illegitimize existing opposite sex canon relationships they have had is more annoying or the pearl clutching you can’t ship this person with same sex characters because their canon relationships haven’t been response is more annoying.
They both are very annoying and I’ve dealt with both. I’ve also dealt with people, in the latter case, accusing everyone who shipped the same-gender pairing of being fetishizers and only in the fandom for shipping instead of genuine fans.
If a fascist is gay or trans it doesn’t mean they’re not a fascist, it just means they’re a fascist who’ll get stabbed in the back by their erstwhile comrades if they ever get into power

Whether a bi girl is manly or not has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not she is predatory. Predators can be of any gender, race, sexuality, gender exoression, etc. If recognizing this makes you angry, then maybe you should ask yourself why you want to pretend bi girls cannot be predatory.
Gay men can be predatory. Lesbians can be predatory. Trans women can be predatory. Trans men can be predatory. Non binary people can be predatory. Cis people can be predatory. Heterosexuals can be predatory. Black people can be predatory. White people can be predatory. Latinos can be predatory. Literally any person can be predatory.
If you wanna go ahead and stick your fingers in your ears and go “la la la I can’t hear you bi girls can nevervbe predatory la la la” well then, go ahead. But don’t pretend we all have to do the same along with you.
Not sure what post you’re responding to because the op literally does not say that gnc bi women cannot be predatory. It says that we are not inherently predatory for dating women more feminine than us. It is a direct response to people who try to push the idea that we are all predatory by virtue of being gnc alone.
Sounds like you might have some personal issues you need to work on if you projected all that onto a post that wasn’t intended for you, and which you clearly missed the context and point of so disastrously 🤔🤔🤔
The “
in any way like men” in @tomcats-and-tophats post refers to the ability to perpetuate institutional sexism.
There’s a difference between that and individual predatory behavior. Women, as individuals can be predatory but women as a marginalized class can’t perpetuate institutional sexism.
