Most of them also died because the Nazis didnt want people alive who could tell the world the truth about what was happening. The Grey Zone refers to the moral conflict of being complicit in killing others but also being threatened with death yourself if you didnt comply. It comes from scientist and Holocaust survivor Primo Levi.

tbh, goyim, you have really got to stop thinking of being jewish as only a religion. PSAs about antisemitism are a little more widespread nowadays but it’s still very obvious you only see us as a religion, or a “faith”, or whatever. yes, judaism is a religion, and yes, you can convert into it, but it’s difficult to convert in and you have to be the one to initiate it because we don’t proselytize.

the jewish people are an ethnicity as well as a religion. judaism is the religion of the jewish people. we are a people indigenous to the levant, exiled 1800 years ago, and forced to resettle in other countries where we were force-assimilated and many of us through those 1800 years lost our ethnic features while still retaining some—our noses, our dark curly hair, etc., which obviously aren’t on every jew but are common in families where the bloodline was kept strong.

it’s really tiring to see people saying “your religion” or “the jewish religion” or “freedom of religion” with reference to us because we are a people and a culture and an ethnicity. we’re far less persecuted for our religion than we are for our cultural dress and our ethnic features. a lot of us don’t even subscribe to the religion part but still celebrate the holidays bc they’re cultural holidays.

so please, like … remember this when you talk about our people or antisemitism. antisemitism is not a religion issue as much as it is an ethnicity issue and a particular brand of racism that has somewhat different rules because we’ve been exiled from israel for so long. like … just keep that in mind when you start discussion about our people pls lol

I hate most war movies they all feel like propaganda and usually I watch them for the actors performance. I’m really annoyed and disappointed that taika chose this as his next movie. Also has Hollywood been on a nazi/wwii kick latley?? I feel like last year alone I watched at least 5 movies about wwii or the nazi regime?!? And a new trailer dropped this week for an Oscar issac movie revolving around the nazi regime?! And know taikas new film? What’s with the sudden spurt of nazi films Hollywood?

its super disappointing, taika could’ve chosen anything as his follow up project to ragnarok after the way that movie was received he literally could’ve had anything greenlit and this is what he does? I’m sorry but I just can’t, like I can’t get past making hitler a funny sidekick let alone be played by a jewish man of color like what was the train of thought here? like I said it screams irresponsible filmmaking at least w “the death of stalin” even tho it was satire it was p fckn dark no one was redeemed or presented in a good light and all the atrocities they committed were as cruel on screen as they were irl, like I’m just at loss of words here

and I think all these nazi films its bec of all the neo nazis on the news like a “comeback” jesus.. u kno how oportunistic hollywood can be and they can market these movies like “Why X Movie Is Important In The Age Of Trump”

I mean, Jewish people have been making satire in regards to Hitler for a long time, and he has been working on this script for years. You don’t have to watch or enjoy the film, but the attitude of “this Jewish man could know better” is really condescending.

  1. WWII Films never went away, they’re a constant, irritating drone in the background for anyone paying attention.
  2. I love how non-Jewish people are telling Jews that they’re relating to the Holocaust and Second World War wrong.
  3. This group would be saying that The Producers was garbage, fuck ‘em.

Taika has outright stated that, as a Polynesian Jewish man, he is making this film as 1) satire and 2) purposfully as a big ol fuck you to Hitler, because what better way to insult him than by having him portrayed by a Polynesian Jew?

Like if goyim could stop freaking out over Jewish satire and portrayals of Hitler and how we handle our own history and START freaking out about the actual, real life fucking Nazis that we got running around right now, that would be nice.
