tenderlesbian:

theres so many strong women of color who have come out as bi/pan/queer this year (or have started to openly talk about their sexuality) and it makes me so happy for my bi/pan sisters of color. stephanie beatriz, kehlani, janelle monae, and now tessa thompson. i hope y’all see these wonderful women and realize that your sexuality is beautiful and something to treasure. i’m so glad these ladies are constantly using their platforms to spread lgbtq positivity & express confidence in themselves. bi/pan woc deserve role models who are like this 💓

doesfromtheforest:

literally bisexual women aren’t allowed to have an opinion on men, regardless of if it’s positive or negative. a bi girl can say she hates men and people will be like “yeah but you’re bi, don’t you spend all your time sucking the toes of every man you see?” or some dumb ignorant shit like that. but if you say something positive about men people will say you’re not trying hard enough to be lgbt and that you’re acting too straight. like no matter what we do we can’t win lmao

So there was some drama and anti-trans violence at the San Francisco Dyke March when a group of TERFs showed up and decided to demonstrate that they don’t know how to behave, and then (as is the wont of boneheads of every stripe) tried to make theirselves look like the victims after the fact.

This here is an official statement from SF Dyke March:

And I love ????? so much ?????

Out on these mean streets, it’s easy to forget that TERFs are actually a pretty small group of people.  And thinking that TERF = lesbian is exactly how TERFs want us to think; everybody hates them, and the lesbians are, have been, and shall remain absolutely wonderful people.  Go buy a lesbian a pizza in these last few hours of Pride month.

Tonight at the gym a man who looked like fuckin Thor asked me out and when I told him I was a lesbian he goes “oh. Chill. You know, my sister and I work out a lot together. She’ll be here tomorrow, same time.”

Like…did Thor just wingman me?

WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED OP? WHERE’S THE REST OF THE STORY??

UPDATE HIS SISTER IS REALLY FUCKING CUTE

OMG WOMAN GIVE US DETAILS how are we supposed to live vicariously through you otherwise????

It was actually really awkward. Thor was like “hey! This is the lesbian” and I was like oh hi okay we’re doing this and Thor was like “this is my sister. She’s bisexual” and the sister was not in any world amused and then they left and I saw her bench press like twice her brother’s weight but yeah she’s gorgeous I’m gone I’m done for

sending love and encouragement to wlw who have left a religion or lost their faith due to the way adherents would talk about being gay, bi, trans, and so forth, whether they left religion all together or converted to a different one.

your experiences with that religion aren’t negated by the fact that you left, and the reason you left is not a “bad” reason. as a sapphic woman you deserve to be healthy in all areas of life, and that includes spiritual.

giftedandtwisted:

Ok so yesterday my friend told me I had a “straight aura” to me. I came out to her as bi a few months ago and she really supported me in that and I really appreciated it. But now she’s convinced I’m actually straight.

A few weeks ago I went to a Pride Club Meeting for the first time. I’d just gotten the guts to do it. I introduced myself a bisexual. Later in the meeting I was called “another questioning lesbian”.

Stop discrediting bisexuals. Stop telling us we’re straights looking for attention or gays to unsure to come out “completely”. Stop telling me I’m wrong about my own sexuality, when it has taken me years to become comfortable with it and accept it.

A word of advice to trans women

Go to your nearest target. Buy a two pack of pushup bras (24$ for 2), and target’s bra inserts (12$). Then go to your nearest Walmart and buy the Vasserette Control Shapewear Panties (2.50 each), they do wonders for helping your tuck. There you go! You just saved yourself a lot of money, you can afford to buy enough to wear every day, and best of all you look fabulous. –@twidx

recs for trans women are so rare on tumblr!! spread this, people.

Please reblog this, in total it’s about $38.50 to make a huge difference for a trans woman/trans feminine person.

I’ve honestly been tucking with that kind of thing ever since I started and it’s so useful

Rainbow capitalism is a cheap marketing tactic and Oreos posted an ace pride graphic but since corporate acknowledgement of asexuality is still so new I’m taken back by it every time

And honestly probably will buy some and through the following week when I hear yet another story about how fascists are in power in America I’ll have a cookie and think about how little, pointless things give hope.

wait, wHAT?!

They aren’t donating to charity so it’s not like I’m gonna rush out and buy some but still it feels nice to be seen in places I’d never suspect.

Here’s the original! https://twitter.com/Oreo/status/1010310244164128768

This means people who hate aces don’t get cookies anymore.

This last part highlights one of the silver linings of rainbow capitalism: it pisses off the bigots. Can anything that pisses off bigots be 100% bad?
