On day 30 of Ruby’s favorite OUAT BTS pics I’d like to honor Rumpelstiltskin aka Mr. Gold aka the man of many faces! I could t imagine anyone but Robert Carlyle playing this role!
So, like, the thing about A&E and the writing on OUAT is that the plotting is incredibly bad, the timelines and motivations make no sense.
HOWEVER they have written several very compelling complex parent child relationships. Of course, Regal Believer, Swan Believer, Snow and Emma, but also Knight Rook and the relationship between Zelena and Robin. Professional writers would love to have written relationships like some of those. They are rare and not everyone can do it. So, what they should do, I think, is move away from high concept genre drama and write a multi generation family drama. It might be good.
Happy happy birthday to Robert Carlyle! Thank you for bringing inspiration and happiness to so many. And also for bringing life to what has become one of my most fave characters on TV ❤️❤️❤️
And it’s also Peter’s birthday! My 2 fave scottish actor share the same birthday??? How awesome is that!
It is highly unlikely that Baelfire will be seen in the finale of OUAT. It’s possible but not extremely likely that he will even be mentioned.
Baelfire is Rumple’s son. Baelfire is Henry’s FATHER. Baelfire was important to OUAT and he shouldn’t be erased from the narrative. So let’s honor this character.
Those of you who are so inclined, please consider writing a fic or making a fanvid or drawing fan art to remember and honor the character of Baelfire/Neal Cassidy.
This can be anything – it can be Papafire, Swanfire, SwanFireQueen, Henry and his dad, Gideon and his brother, Baelfire and his granddaughter Lucy, Rumbelle and Baelfire, adult Bae/Neal or kid Baelfire – so many relationships that were never explored because this wonderful character was written off the show for no good reason.
Due date for all contributions to this even will be Thursday, May 10 – the day before the penultimate episode of Once Upon a Time.
When posting your fan contribution, please tag it #remembering baelfire FIRST, followed by any other tags that are appropriate.
I hope many will consider participating. Baelfire was important and he deserves to be remembered. Please share and spread the word!
