I hope the shirtless Kylo Ren meme never gets upgraded to HD when the Blu-Ray drops because there’s just something about the faded blurriness that gives it near-cryptid status and we as a society can’t lose that
I’m tired of the mistreatment surrounding Finn in every aspect of Star Wars. They literally advertised the LIFE out of Finn with the blue lightsaber in The Force Awakens promos and then Rian sidelined him without a second thought in The Last Jedi as they proceeded to do John dirty when he mentioned it in a slight joke.
What bothered me more? Rian acted like Finn had such a big role in The Last Jedi before it came out! “Finn is absolutely a main protagonist also.” So let me just make sure he does “absolutely” nothing to advance the story and let’s add another person to join him! Rose! Wow! This is GOLD!
It was clear Rian only cared about progressing Rey and Kylo as characters. Everything about The Last Jedi has to do with those two being the keys. Don’t worry about the keyring, or which lock you’ll even need the keys to unlock, just grab the keys.
Snoke had some of the most potential of any villain I had ever seen. So much could’ve been accomplished by playing on his character, and unlocking more of his past. He ruined that. Finn’s force sensitivity hints could’ve been touched on in this film, he ruined that too.
I love how Rian made a little random boy at the end of The Last Jedi literally use the force without having any previous exposure to the audience just for fun. While Finn:
•Is literally the only stormtrooper we know to defect and resist The First Order’s brainwashing/reconditioning like he did.
•Drew Kylo’s attention twice unexplained. (Once from a whole other planet)
•Heard screams from a whole other planet. (and turns around to look at said planet before it even blew up)
•Managed to find the very village that Rey (the only other force sensitive person on the entirety of Jakku as we know) was in… in the middle of the desert. (Huge coincidence come on)
And Rian is just like; “Yeah sorry I don’t see any REAL signs of Finn being force sensitive BUT he’s a main protagonist… Also.”
I’ve just had it. I’m really counting on this next movie to save us fans who feel the same way because The Last Jedi almost made me give up on Star Wars. JJ Abrams I am counting on you to us justice, and I am counting on you to do Finn’s character justice.
