Okay here’s some fun wordplay for y’all: You’re on the website Tumblr dot com and you see a post about how men are all terrible. Men are often terrible, so there’s gonna be a lot such posts and most of them are good. Except in this case it doesn’t say “men” at all, it says “males.” Now put on your thinking caps and ask why OP would go to that trouble and sound like a space alien instead of saying “men” like a human.
Half of being trans is being hypervigilant against transphobes. Like, I spent 15 minutes scrolling down on a blog that I would be super interested in just to make sure that it wasn’t going to start reblogging stuff from my favorite transmisogynists. Turns out that my hypervigilance was right again.

Most cis wlw on Tumblr are, in fact, supportive of trans people. Most cis wlw who mention “hating men” are not using this as an attack on trans women. However, because of my experience with the small, insular, and vitriolic trans-exclusionary feminists on Tumblr, I have learned to be hypervigilant and it Really Fucking Sucks and Really Fucking Hurts when I am right.
I am a lesbian. This kind of blog would have been My Shit. But I’ve been taught to distrust the very women I connect with the most. I’ve been taught to feel afraid in my own home.
Being a transgender lesbian is constantly walking on eggshells to not prove them right. And their standards are ever changing so it’s inevitable that you’ll prove them right. Righteous anger will be taken as “male propensity towards violence,” which closely mirrors the way men see outspoken women as “shrill.” If we do anything to fight back outside of debate within their terms, we are immediately casted as “violent men.” They will not be satisfied until we shut up, lie down, and die.
Cis wlw can and should reblog this. Help me remember my allies.
Radfems hate women who aren’t feminine enough, sure they claim to support the breaking of gender roles and gender non-conforming women but only a very, very specific kind.
They’d tell women they shouldn’t shave, that being proud of your body hair is empowering etc, etc, but the moment a very hairy woman doesn’t shave or has a beard and is proud? Oh well, then that means she’s a NASTY MAN with a BIG FAT COCK, and an EVIL TRAN and STINKS!
They operate on a very specific limited world-view that they claim to be against, they hate anyone who breaks gender roles and assume they are trans. Obviously, this comes from their transmisogynist views but that doesn’t change the fact that they are also raging misogynists.
They hate trans women so much they’ll attack cis women that don’t fall into their strict category of what’s an acceptable behaviour for a woman. They just copy-pasted the world-view of any extremely sexist cishet white right-wing conservative man, slapped a new label on it and called it progressive.
Never forget that a TERF’s best friend is a conservative straight white man. Both of them just LOVE hating, harassing and abusing women.

we’re seeing this process also in hospitals: as there are more and more men who are becoming nurses, the salaries and powers of nurses are increasing; medicine itself is being associated with women, and so people are now questioning their high salaries. same thing happened with lawyers and computer scientists and school teachers and so on.

if you ‘defend’ trans women by accusing twefs of ~disrespecting our identities~ or whatever, you’re basically doing the twefs’ work for them.
respond with materialism, talk about how women are constituted as a class regulated by sexual violence and how this works in the same ways for cis and trans women, talk about how twef ideology exposes us to greater sexual violence and death, talk about how ‘biological sex’ is ideology that maintains gender and discuss the actual complexities, etc. etc.
but don’t make it about ‘identity’ please because not only is that easy for them to ridicule, even if it’s accepted it still makes trans women into lesser/fake women.
