I AM LOVING hill house handing the writer guy his own ass, verbally, chewing him out. It’s like he is being told that he worse than the house itself. I am enjoying this conversation immensely. IT’S WHAT HE DESERVES FOR BEING A ASSHOLE.

alright i’m just gonna say it,,,, the haunting of hill house on netflix is actually a great spinoff of the shirley jackson book and everyone who immediately turns their nose up at it because it’s not 100% exactly like the book are missing out big time. this series is a slow burn horror of a family that has been dealt with trauma, dysfunction, estranged relationships, and even addiction. but it also refuses to blame mental illness on the families breakdown and instead directly blames the supernatural (unlike other horror shows that love to demonize mental illness). it also gives each character the justice they deserve and makes them into real people with flaws just like the book. so yeah, the tv series is a lot different than the book and you should definitely still read the original book as well. but tbh i think its a refreshing retake on the story and i think shirley jackson herself would be proud of this series. dont boo me i’m right
