wrt the laquan mcdonald case the cop’s defense tried (and luckily failed) to move the trial out of cook into the much whiter lake county, barred all but one black person from the jury, and argued that van dyke had the responsibility to keep shooting 17-year-old laquan while he was bleeding out onto the ground he lay on because he “twitched towards his knife” and therefore posed a threat

chicago police also threatened eyewitnesses into silence, deleted footage of the incident from nearby restaurant security cameras and purposefully filed several fabricated several reports corroborating the cop’s lies about being provoked into shooting

so, you know, acab

Despite what white people of today want to believe, it was NOT that long ago. At all.

The War on Drugs, mass incarceration, the MOVE bombing, COINTELPRO, Rodney King being beaten, Sandra Bland’s death, Michael Brown’s death, Trayvon Martin’s death etc. etc. etc. also happened in the green area too. I’d say making it green is a misnomer.
